Bobbett's blog No 96,Not so festive Christmas Decorations.

It's the first week of December 2020 and we are out of lockdown and into a tiered stage

Its the strangest of times, so I thought I would cheer myself up with some festive wreath making or not so festive and more eclectic as I see it.

We have had some nice sales on Etsy and are getting items ready and posting them out.

You can take a look at our latest stock pieces here

Phil's been helping me sort more of the studio out and a new upcycled piece is underway.

So I decided to make some wreaths with leftover wreath wires from last year and some ideas for a different style of Christmas wreaths with bits and bobs from my studio supplies.

The first one was a butterfly inspired piece using some green tinsel I had in storage and adding some larger faux flowers that I picked up from a friend who was offering them up free to a good home.

So as I'm the type of person to not refuse a freebie if I can make good use of it, I seized the pieces gladly.

Here's the finished piece.

Stunning at 30cm in diameter this beautiful bespoke wreath would look great all year round.

I love the piece against my outside dresser.

The next bespoke wreath was another butterfly piece using beautiful iridescent tinsel I found on my travels, and again some pieces from my friend.

A real fantasy piece quite magical.

It sort of has a rainbow theme which is very in this year with the use of colorful butterflies

Again I couldn't resist taking a photo of it on my dresser.

And the last wreath started off being a real hate relationship, I really didn't like it and suddenly everything started to come together once I had sprayed some shells I had in my supplies and added in more gold decorative leaves.

This piece has actually ended up being my favorite

.

The yellow butterflies make the piece pop.

So tempted to keep this one.

From these being on a local site, I got a commission to make 3 slightly more traditional wreaths.

I showed the client three examples

The client decided to go for the design with the pinecones she had ordered 3 as it's for a local business with rental cottages in one of the nearby villages, lovely doing some local b2b.

If you are interested in purchasing one of my designs feel free to contact me through our social media pages or

drop me an email at bestofbritish2015@gmail.com prices start at £25.

Our outside dresser is even looking festive.

Having our creative home is such fun this time of year

I have also been working on a new piece for our sites I'm transforming

a tired dark wood bedside table into a creation inspired by the Nightshade collection hopefully next week I can show you the piece.

Tonia's been busy this week knitting away making some super cute newborn baby hats

and practicing her miniature skills with these super cute new baby card toppers knitted using cocktail sticks and beads, fabulous.

Well, that's it for this week have a great week keep crafting and we will be back next week with some more finished designs.
